According to the designer, this is an old batik motif – about 10 years old, which he cleverly cut and patched on the black jacket.
This Malaysian batik picture remains close to its roots of many colours – having the purple, red, blue and green nicely placed to form a beautiful piece of artwork. The unique part about this batik picture is although it uses many colours, they are not loud and fits well when blended together.
And the nicely chosen black colour of the jacket brings the focus on it and not taking it away. Again, using the principles of ‘less is more’.
